I did have a quick look at some of the demo videos showing how simple
it is. Might be the next step along from Tuxpaint for my kids (one of
my daughters plays some dress up game, might be good for her to learn
how to make simple games).

Not to dis Scratch but just to remind you that you can only make parts
of programming 'simple' - the complicated bits are still complicated and
can not be avoided.

True, well I figure if my kids can learn the basics, if they enjoy it and want to learn more they can.
