The instructions say, enter dpkg -i filename.deb into the CLI, but I'll be jiggered if I can establish the file name..! I've looked into the various folders on the disc and tried various file names, nothing works. I searched the CD for *.deb, but nothing was found. What am I missing? Any advice gratefully received. Thanks, group. Jack. How did you search the CD? Try this: df -h that'll tell you where it's mounted - probably under /media/cdrom0 or something. cd /media/cdrom0 (or wherever) find . -name \*.deb and see what it finds... Gordon
If it's the latest DVD and if it works like Mint with Gnome it might be mounted under /media/LXFDVD146.
Doesn't seem to be many deb packages on the disc (excluding the Ubuntu and Kubuntu packages):
Games/Solumns/solumns_0.1-4.deb HotPicks/Synergy/synergy-1.4.2-Linux-i686.deb HotPicks/Synergy/synergy-1.4.2-Linux-x86_64.debYou should also be able to double click on the deb files to install them (and just in case you wasn't aware, the x86_64 deb packages are 64-Bit).
Hope this helps. Rob -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/listfaq
