[LUG] Checking USB ports

As my new computer comes with 6 USB ports I thought to run lsusb in a 
terminal just to check them out. To my surprise I found that the 
output listed only 5.

So I thought, check them with my USB memory stick. I tested all six 
ports and they all worked!  So now I am wondering, if all 6 ports are 
present and working why did lsusb show only 5?

Any one any thoughts on this?
