I did wonder actually after reading the article today if it would be worth sending letters to GP surgeries across Devon & Cornwall about this, suggesting that they look at OpenOffice.org (even setup an advice web site for staff who want to know more).
Maybe mentioning the fact that staff who want to keep MS Office now have to pay around £100 (IIRC that is what The Register article said), or they have the choice of downloading OpenOffice.org (for Windows, Mac or Linux) rather than pushing Linux & OpenOffice.
