Most laptops have the "extra" keys mapped onto the "normal" ones by way
of the Fn 'modifier.  Certainly on my HP G6092 if I hit Fn+Scroll it
enabled the 'numpad' (where 456 is actually on UIO, 123 is on JKL,
etc).  It is thoroughly confusing when you're not expecting it.
