Just out of curiosity, how much code have you published under the GPL
compared to, oh, I don't know, say me? Who's supposedly got the most to
"lose" here?

30...40,000 lines I guess* - but a lot of the time I don't even ask for attribution - just put the GPL on it. I don't add email address' - I get enough poo as it is, and the ones from pre 2006 would be unusable anyway. It seems to me there's a whole sea change underway - from stuff being defacto protected by copyright - YOU DO NOT PUBLISH WITHOUT PERMISSION to a constant requirement to reiterate your rights everytime someone fancies going there own way. All with the best intentions of course - but then once the precedent is set... But thats google - I dont know it the DEB covers the same - it doesnt look like it but its not unusual to have things sneaked through and I cant read more than 10 paras without wanting to kill, kill, kill
