Re: [LUG] Spreading the Linux gospel

I wish. I have to use Xmarks to have my bookmarks at college because they have blocked Exe;s running from anywhere unauthorised (IE not c:\program files) Ok, from a security standpoint thats good, but i absolutely hate it. At least they havent blocked installing Extensions (yet) I dont plan to tell them as if they did that i'd loose Adblock PLus and then i'd not be able to do anything involving online research...

Mine's on two sites. At one they still have IE7 (better than 6, I
guess...) because Northgate, who manage the IT, are pretty much useless,
and at the other they couldn't work out how to lock it down - which is
odd, because it's actually quite easy to do.  At the latter place they
installed it, never configured it, some students worked out the proxy
settings to make it work at all (I was one) and a week or so later they
removed it again.

*sigh*
Ah, well, Firefox Portable will have to do. Or a live CD or USB stick...
