Just thinking, it's a good advertisement for Gordon's servers, Palm and Exeter FM web sites are still working fine, Heart had traffic problems earlier and their travel site doesn't work, but I gather every Heart web site from around the country runs from a limited amount of servers on one connection, so it could be that they are just getting hammered more.
Traffic out of my servers is up on yesterday - by about a third overall
too. Phone calls are about what I'd expect though - maybe a shade more
this morning, so my phone customers all seemed to have managed to get to
work! (Although the majority are not actually in Devon)
If it helps, Exeter FM have details of school closures for Torbay, South Devon and Exeter areas. Might be of use to anyone who has kids in school in these areas.

My local school/client (Steiner in Dartington) doesn't go back until
Monday, but they're already setting up staff conferences and answering
machine messages just in-case...
An intersting idea I had last year was to setup a service to schools, etc.
which would give them a self-funded messaging service - a new number for
each school which parents could call to get status, etc. initially aimed
at the swine flu thing, but could have been used for this too - however
the few schools I asked for opinions of weren't really intersted at the
time, so I never developed it.
