There are two main things that are taking space:
- A vestigial windows partition: kept because there are occasionally
some programs that need windows, and it is easier this way. (Apart
from sitting through the windows update cycle each time I have to
borrow the computer and log on)

- Videos: Education department seem keen on sending out videos. She
  wants to keep some

In looking through the files, there is one other issue that does take a
surprising amount of space and that is word files. I suspect that this
is because of embedded photos, graphs etc.

In looking through my files, some pdfs take up a huge amount of space:
largely due to photographs (eg a 10MB pdf, which can comprises about 10
pages of text and 3 photographs). What is most irritating is that the
photos rarely add to the text and as a document user, I would prefer to
either have a text file or occasionally an html file that is easier to
read.

Oh well..
