Word on the street says this device simply reduced interference from the bell wire and voice. Various sources suggest simply disconnecting the bell wire works as well or better. http://www.jarviser.co.uk/jarviser/btiplate.html So this plate is basically doing with a circuit, which BT engineers do manually if they did the install and fitted a microfilter into the phone socket when you got ADSL they effectively disconnect the bell wire for you. I suspect that if you have extensions from the main socket you might gain something, although these days probably easier to simply get a set of cordless phones and lose all the phone extension cabling entirely. -- The Mailing List for the Devon & Cornwall LUG http://mailman.dclug.org.uk/listinfo/list FAQ: http://www.dcglug.org.uk/linux_adm/list-faq.html
