Where I live I don't get very good reception so it falls back to GPRS but when I take it out and about I reguarly get either 3G or HSDPA speed (which is the quicker of the two). I even took it with me when we went on holiday to Cornwall last month. Vodafone suggested that we would only get GPRS speeds (think slow dialup!) but I did managed on a couple of occasions to get it to pick up a 3G connection. I'd say if you can get 3G reception or HSDPA reception where ever your are using it then you will net good speeds, it's certainly fast enough for web browsing and e-mail etc. Does your netbook have a mobile broadband modem built in already?
