[LUG] DVD-RAM control data block

Does anyone know how to re-write the control data block on a DVD-RAM
disk? I ask because it appears that this contains information that has
become so as to make the disk unformattable, unreadable. On this
particular disk, blanking was successful on one side but still can't be
formatted. I wasn't so lucky with the other side!

The output of dvd+rw-mediainfo is:
INQUIRY: [HP ][DVD Writer 940d ][3H23]

READ CAPACITY: 0*2048=0

I think it is the read format capacities and spare area information that
need to be modified. I can't guess if disc status does.

Thanks in advance,

Alexis
