In the early 80's I recruited about 40 test technicians of Full C & G/HNC
level and interviewed about 300 people in the process. Only 2 qualified
applicants were women (I employed 1 with no regrets).
I ended my career in IS in Nortel, Canadian with main business in US. I would
say that 25 to 30% were women, maybe a bigger percentage over the pond.
