My Ralink is cardbus, and that shows in lspcmcia as "CardBus Card - see lspci for 
more information," so lspcmcia is perfectly adequate in telling me whether the card 
is recognised or not. I belive that the card is pcmcia anyway.

I turned the encryption off on my wireless access point, not the client adaptor.
