I run both 6.06 and 6.10 here on different systems. I find 6.06 is nice and
stable, but 6.10 doesn't seem to be quite so "right".
I have been testing the 7.04 test releases and, touch wood, they seem to
include some nice features as well as being fairly reliable.
My view? Stick with 6.06 for now, 7.04 will be released in a week or so -
then wait for a month for any major issues to be sorted. Then you can decide
if it is worth changing. I would personally not recommend upgrading - I
would back up data you need and do a complete re-install. Upgrading from one
version to another can occasionally break things you have installed I find.
