On Feb 04, 2007, Benjamin A'Lee was like: > debian-multimedia.org has things like mythtv in, and mplayer (but > mplayer's in Debian now anyway). I have been using debian testing for a while now and it's ok except that I can't Listen Again to work. This is not down to testing, though, it's because I have an AMD64 and the BBC's RealPlayer10 won't go. I put debian-multimedia in the sources.list and tried aptitude install realplayer and got the reply 'not an installation candidate' -- though the debian-multimedia site says it is there. I installed mplayer ok, which I thought came from debian-miltimedia but probably came from main. I can play a BBC programme with it but the quality is poor and the method awkward -- you have to say 'use stand-alone realplayer', then download the URL of the .ram file, then run mplayer rtsp: etc. What do you suggest? Do I try to set up a 32-bit chroot environment (looks hairy) and get RealPlayer10 or install mplayer-plugin (ditto)? I'd prefer to have realplayer if possible since all I want is to play streaming audio but why does it fail to install? Is there someone on the list who is listening again with an AMD64?
