I would agree here, samba is probably easier to configure from the
smb.conf file than through graphical interfaces.

If you are having trouble post your current smb.conf and we can have a
look, i'm not a samba expert but i have it all running and doing the
things it is suspose to. I found the example configuration guides at
samba.org are useful. It would also be useful to know what you want to
do with samaba (eg allow logons from windows clients or just set up a
shared folder on a "home" style network).
