-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi All, I've got my hands on a Dazzle DV Bridge - firewire video capture - to replace the Pinnacle card that refused point blank to work in Linux. Installed Kino and Cinelerra. However I have errors trying to capture in Kino. Basically it can't see the capture device. Originally there were no 1394 devices installed, which meant I had to make them manually. in /dev mknod raw1394 c 171 0 chmod 666 /dev/raw1394 mkdir video1394 cd video1394 mknod 0 c 171 16 mknod 1 c 171 17 chmod 666 /dev/video1394/* testlibraw says 'command not found' So far I have tried these commands: modprobe ohci1394 modprobe video1394 modprobe ieee1394 modprobe raw1394 lsmod [irrelevant ones snipped] Module Size Used by ohci1394 33924 0 ieee1394 318772 1 ohci1394 Question, where are the other two? Now when I try 'dvgrab foo-' I get: NATALIE:/dev/video1394# dvgrab foo- Capture Started Aborted Also I had to recreate the devices again - they seem to have died when the PC was turned off.
