Re: [LUG] Remote X

AHA! It was sounding like you might have been a little bit but i didn't
like to say as email can so often come across the wrong way :o)

Working setup:

SUSE 9.3 Desktop PC downstairs as "server".
Windows XP Laptop upstairs in office as "client"

Attempted setup:

GENTOO Desktop PC as headless "server"
Windows XP Laptop upstairs as "client" (same as other client)

Basically trying to remote my 2 home machines from my 1 work laptop.

Ta,
Martin.

You don't need to, if you display the clients on your local PC X
Server. Are you sure your present software does not manage that?

As far as i know, NX is not an X server, it's a think client just like
vnc
is. I would obviously be quite happy to be proved wrong though :)

I must be a bit confused then. What OSes are all the machines running
now which give you a working setup?
