Software Patents are a very grave risk for GNU/Linux. If I were the CEO of a software company I would be trying to collect them as fast as possible, whether I liked the idea or not - it may be the only way to stay in business. However, as GNU/Linux supporters/advocates/contributors we simply don't have that option. Free Software and software patents are incompatible. Eventually, one or the other will have to go! Tony
Please write to your MP, your MEP, join AFFS, join FSF - just please do something that expresses your clear view of the problem to those who are either fighting or have the power to change the issue. Wringing our hands here might do us some good but it won't change the result. The battle against software patents in the EU started a long time ago but it is still far from over. There is time to make your voice heard - do it before it's too late.
