I don't do Freebsd or C shells... but did you start/restart a csh after
this edit? Did you "echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH" to check?

I'd try Google or FreeBSD/htdig forums, but often "config.log" has error
messages from the test case that are informative so read it first.
