Subject: [bristol] Free LPI Exams at Bristol Event
Date: 30 May 2002 19:10:56 +0100

If anyone is wavering on the registration plus membership fees for the
UKUUG event in Bristol, this from the May 2002 UKUUG newsletter:

"Thanks to the generosity of IBM on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th,
participants in the UKUUG Linux Developers Conference at Bristol will be
able to take LPI (Linux Professional Institute) certifications at no
cost.

A test centre will be established in a room adjacent to the conference
lecture rooms with space for about 20 people concurrently to sit the
examinations.

The Linux Professional Institute is a community body with wide support
which offers a distribution-neutral certificate in Linux. There are
currently two examinations at each of two levels.

See http://www.lpi.org for more details."

Since exams usually cost USD100, it might be of interest.

Mike
