[LUG] Red Hat Updates

I just noticed a story on slashdot about redhat charging for the use of an
automatic update tool for their dist.

There seems to be (as expected I suppose) a big furore on slashdot about it,
but I'm not sure I understand why.  Red Hat is after all a company and has
to make money some way.

After all that, its not that difficult to knock up a bit of perl that will
auto update your red hat system for you.  I already have one that
periodically logs on to mirror.ac.uk and checks for new rpms.
