[LUG]Re: DVD No longer working

 

Hi Simon

Sorry end of the week work madness! Back on to it. Over the weekend Manjaro ran an update and now it recognises a disk in the cd rom and also in the attached device. However, when I try to play it comes up with error and today in trying to mount the drive it opened a Firefox window. Current error says info string reallocated, size=637. When I tried running lshw it says command not found.

Also insert a disk and look at the end of the kernel log.

Probably easiest is run this command in a terminal window, and enter password 
if needed.

$ sudo  tail -f /var/log/kern.log

Insert the disk and paste the new bits that appear till it has failed to 
mount. Then "ctrl"+"c" to terminate the "tail" command.

It could be else where but that will give up something to work on instead of 
people guessing.
