Re: [LUG] Ubuntu LVM

Dear Martin,

Currently, you've got three normal partitions (nothing to do with LVM)
on sda: sda1, sda2 and sda3.

sda1 and sda2 are very small and are just being used for booting, so
they can stay as they are with no problem.

sda3 contains a single LVM volume group itself containing a single LVM
logical volume. There's little reason to use LVM with that setup, as you
could just use the entirety of sda3 for /; a more usual setup would be
to have one LVM volume group (1.8TB) on sda3 and lots more little LVM
logical volumes within that (one for /, one for /home, one for /var and
so on).

However, if you're already comfortable with the system and just want to
grow your single LVM logical volume so it's like a normal partition, you
can use the lvextend command on it.

Hope this helps :)

Best wishes,

Sebastian
