Hi All

Just thought, this may be of interest, to any one who makes their own
home brew beer.

A look at the various Free software too to help,

Looks like both brewtarget and qbrew are in the Debian Repositories.

Since when did you need Software to brew beer - Gordon, help?!

Don't look at me, one of my clients (and good friends) runs a brewery!!!

What you need:

A "database" of some sorts. This can be a dead-tree notebook, spreadsheet or more complex.

Timers and temperature monitors.

You also need cleaners and sterilisers, buckets, bottles, kegs, etc.

You don't really need much else - perhaps a hydrometer.

The trouble is, Home Brewers just get far too geeky about it all. They'll start wittering on about pH levels, specific gravitys, drop-point, and woah, you're not going a full mash? go to the back of the class, boy! It's yet another hobby where people have been tinkering away for decades but like many it also has it's share of snobbery and one upmanships...

I more or less stopped drinking alcohol some time back (years), so don't actually care.

However if in Devon and looking for some good craft lagers and ales, then check out https://barnabysbrewhouse.com/
