Hi Simon Thanks for the reply. Yes to save space but also because
thumbnails don't render very well under Ubuntu on a mounted drive.
Not sure if I have the set up correct, but when I open a folder it
takes ages to load and thumbnails appear very very slowly! On 11/11/2018 4:42 pm, Simon Waters

What do folks use please?I don't but if I did I would probably script it using netpbm netpbm package in Debian offers converters in many formats. You may have to go via PPM format e.g. rawtoppm file.raw | ppmtojpeg file.jpg Of course the trouble with batch conversion to jpeg is jpeg is a lossy format, and you'll either end up with loss of quality or unnecessarily large files, for batch conversion from raw "-quality 95" disk space is cheap, images can't be recreated, unless you can spend the time deciding on good enough. Why jpeg? |
