Sorry. I can take the card back so let's start from there shall we. Forget trying to get this one installed and could you recommend something better please?

And thanks. And sorry, I will ask next time.

Hi

I bought this card today and at first it worked fine and then just
stopped working. I downloaded a set of drivers from the tp-link website
here: https://www.tp-link.com/en/download/TL-WN881ND.html#Driver But I
do not understand how to install.

Can anyone help please?

Your usual complete lack of information makes this a guessing game
chief. Distro/kernel/logs/steps taken so far...?

That being said here a couple of links for you:

[official 'documentation' - check p12-13 for a laugh*

[script to provide detailed wifi info if you can't fix it]

https://github.com/luckynzm/tlwn8200nddriver
[this is probably your best bet for the install]

[specific steps utilising the link above on 18.04 for reference]

To be honest you didn't make the best purchasing decision here - not
only is it a bit ancient and doesn't support modern wifi standards
(300mbps? good grief) but a cursory google would have shown it's not a
plug and play unit on linux. Virtually any cheap USB adapter with more
modern linux support and better features would have been a safer bet.
The version you've got doesn't even have an Atheros chipset unlike the
v1 of the same adapter.

As ever I don't mean to be harsh chief but sometimes you seem to be
going out of your way to make things (too) hard for yourself (for no
good reason). That being said, of course I'll help you fix it anyway!

Cheers

* instructions for Linux are literally:

"Visit the TP-Link’s website at http://www.tp-link.com and go to
TL-WN881ND’s product page. Then find the compatible version of driver in
the support page. Download and install the driver on your computer."
