Hi Tom,

Interesting! Data science is what I do for a living (well, about half
of my working time) and MATLAB is very popular in this field, so I'm
always keen to hear about experiments with OCTAVE!

BTW, I moved from MATLAB on a PC to R on Linux about 5 years ago, and
I much prefer R. I've quite a lot of knowledge in R now, so if you
ever feel like trying it out, I'm your man :-)
