Re: [LUG] Rural Internet connections

maybe that why the Chudleigh youth
club is having problems with its
internet connection and general network problems in the building. My
sister is working for the youth group as a youthleader and wants to
get the internet sorted out and get the windows xp (i think it was
maybe vista) machine converted over to linux and used etc etc

can anyone in the area help her with the networking problems?
i am no network expert but looked pretty complex setup with a domestic
router in a cupboard and a network going to the the rest of the
network , there is a standard 8 or 4 port hub into the office and in
the main youth club room (with snooker tables n 44inch tv etc) there
is a switch which seems to be working but the internet just kept
coming and going , it took 2hours to download the linux mint image
file so it was pretty useless really as is.

So who up too help out a local charity/youth group??

my sister email is scroft20@xxxxxxxxx

thank you and merry christmas and happy new year to everyone into
linux and raspberry pi in devon....

maybe there a chance of using the youth club venue for future linux or
raspberry pi meetings , i am sure sister can sort that out etc
