Re: [LUG] OT: PC Liquid Coolers

Closed loop water coolers are nothing but a waste of money and can be bad for your precious cpu in my experience.

You can't check flow, can't check water level in radiator, pumps are so quiet you don't know if they're working.

Just get a nice cpu block and save your money for a proper loop :)

That's my 2 pence Dan :)

Good Afternoon all,

I am currently looking at buying a closed loop liquid cooler for my CPU, considering I have been running on the stock cooler since I built the PC which was late 2012 time, my PC is used for a variety of things including the basic web browsing, emails etc, however it does also run games through the use of eyefinity (being able to combine dual screen setups into one), alongside small amounts of photo and video editing.

I am currently looking at possibly going for the Cooler Master Seidon 120V liquid cooler which seems to be the one people are going for at the moment, however have seen others on the market such as Corsair H80, H100i's etc which are slowly creeping out of my budget, what are people's thoughts to liquid coolers, if you use one, how do you get on with it?

Happy Friday!
