Re: [LUG] free server to anyone that wants it

I am interested, it was only yesterday that I was (and still am) looking into Linux as a home file server, I have a couple of old ide hdd (40gb maxtor) and was wondering what Linux distribution to use. This seems to fit all my requirements but as I don't have a car getting to you could be a problem

Do you know how easy it would be set to set that up as a file server/ backup would need to be assessable in windows as well as android

Hi All

I donât post that often but i have a 5U server thatâs surplus to requirements. Current hardware in it are:-
Intel SE7520BD2 motherboard
4 GB of ram
Intel SC5300BASE case
LSI Logic MegaRAID SCSI 320-0X ZCR Controller
Floppy drive
CD ROM drive
Tandberg 3508-LTO (LTO3 HH) (showing it needs cleaning, unsure if it works)
3 x Fujitsu MAW3073NC scsi drives
3 x Seagate ST373207LC drives
2 x Xeon 3.0 Ghz (Dual Core if i remember correctly)
1 x rail kit.

I tested all the hardware apart from the LTO drive, its currently running CENTOS 6.6 with no problems at all.e
Only downside is itâs really heavy. So collection is really the only option. I live in Perranporth.

Would anyone like it??
