Rubbish. They had the preinstallation-created monopoly (with per-item
licensing!) that IBM manager twat handed them in 1981. Nobody ever
chose MS. Nobody even knew they had become an MS customer to start
with; they thought they were IBM customers (or Compaq, or what have
you). Still true today; most people simply do not understand the
legal-commercial reality of the "deal" they have "agreed" when they
purchase a PC. Note: Most. People. Not you, not the people on this
list. Most. People. In. The. World.

... which everything you've written up to now makes clear you
understood correctly to be at least in relative terms inferior. Which
is why it was cheaper, of course.
