So long as the encryption key is printed on a label.


But seriously go through a whole set of usage scenarios to make sure your encryption keeps YOU relatively safe and not excluded from your system.
As has been pointed out a modem in a locked cupboard with the password etc on is not a bad thing. A well written text document on an encrypted drive is useless unless it can be decrypted and we're back to the printed label again...
