Well, that is no use to me or anyone. Eventually it will break.

Why do you think that?

Maybe there have been no updates to it because it works and the people
who were doing the updates feel that it's actually a finished product.

Imagine that. Something that actually works and is stable - something
you've been using for the past 4+ years without any issues, concerns, etc.

I think that because that is what I have read when researching via Google. Eventually, I am told, if Pixelpost is no longer maintained, it will fail because it will not have kept up with upgrades to such programs as PHP, mysql etc. Now I don't pretend to be any kind of expert, but I can see why that could be a problem. Please tell me if that is not going to happen.

I've not looked at its code, so I can't tell.

But you're right - while the software itself might be fine, solid and good, issues with the underlying language interpreters might thwart it in 10 years time.

I've found this recently with some code I moved from a server running php 5.2 to one running 5.3 - some features stopped working which had been marked as deprecated in 5.x for a long time...

That's the sort of stuff that's more likely to trip you up than the actual program itself being buggy.

Then again, something I wrote 20+ years ago is still running, so you never know...

However... A quick look at Pixelpost and I find that there is something under development...

So who knows.
