Were/are you using CUPS directly or with the Mint/KDE printing setup tool?
I would recommend using CUPS directly.
Grant
My main computer has a printer linked to it by USB. My wife has her own
laptop which is linked by wifi. This works well.
Previously I had my printer (the same one) linked by parallel cable and
my wife could ask for a document to be printed via my printer. This
worked. Now that I have changed to a USB cable I am having problems
getting the printer to be recognised by the laptop.
Main computer is running Mint KDE. The laptop is running Mint Xfce. I am
puzzled as to why it worked OK before but now, when I try to set up the
link from the laptop it does not find the printer. And yes, I realise
that the main computer and the printer should be both powered up.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?
Thanks
Neil
