[LUG] panasonic tx-l37e30b hdd problems

We have a panasonic tx-l37e30b tv and the external hdd used to be
detected now it isn't

plugging in to my linux comptuer fdisk -l comes up with

Disk /dev/sda: 250.1 GB, 250059350016 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 30401 cylinders, total 488397168 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x0b398c5b

Partition table entries are not in disk order

WARNING: GPT (GUID Partition Table) detected on '/dev/sdb'! The util
fdisk doesn't support GPT. Use GNU Parted.

The message when plugging in is

Unable to mount 1.0 TB File system

Error mounting: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on
/dev/sdb1,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
       dmesg | tail or so

so linux knows its there, just can't see it properly

seems to suggest the file system is based on Unix however the person
posting that didn't seem sure, so no further information

anyone had similar issues, i can try and run gparted see if that see it
