I want to use as simple phone as possible as modem/peripheral. I've been playing with Android and I really can't see the point in using a (mostly) inferior software to do less of something that I can do on the laptop and then not quite be able to sync the two devices. If I'm talking on the phone I cant do X and vice versa so I may as well have two devices and the nos-phone bit may as well be something good.Rather than waste a lot of money on a phone that badly does what my laptop does has anyone experience of using a mobile phone for internet access? All the Android phones do this very well. Do you mean use internet ON it or use it as a modem? There are several modem-like apps - Android comes with a "Share internet via wi-fi / USB" option.
