[LUG] Wastebasket KDE 4.6

I am now using KDE 4.6. Deleted files go into the wastebasket. I can 
view this in a file manager. However I have added the wastebasket 
widget to the panel and when I try to use it I get an error message

Malformed URL trash:/

The heading of the error message window is 'Error KIOExec'.

I don't understand this. Why is it OK to look at the items via a file 
manager but not via the widget?

Can anyone help please?
