I've seen a lot of SEO people who are scathing, but I see it as a useful way to test if the pages convert, what keywords work etc, before one need even start on other SEO work. i.e. traffic can be a useful testing tool. Although one client insisted on trying Google Merchant Centre (formerly Google Base) to little effect, which is another way of putting data into Google in a more structured formats.
