Hows everyone doing?

My cars more or less stuck right now - I park it in a small private car-park which is up a steep and windy little hill - which is currently a sheet of ice )-:

A nice Dartmoor webcam, if you've not seen it is:

and the BBC travel pages are always good to check:

  http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/cornwall/

These have links to local highways agency webcams too. (The A38 in Devon looks good this morning, but no much traffic is about!)

Last year our local co-op ran short of a few things, as the delivery lories were delayed, but nothing drastic. Fortuantley we can walk to most local shops for basics.

I've had a few customers internet lines gone down due to the phone lines being covered in ice - (3G to the rescue where possible!) It's always good to keep an eye on your ADSL line stats if your router allows it - check the noise margins and sync speed - they're the best way of telling any issues.

And looking out the window now, there's a few more flakes of snow about with more forecast for next week, but the forecasts to seem very changable right now!

Keep warm - I am :)

I've just thrown about 2Cwt of (precious) ash from the fire onto about 150 yds of our lane - just up the tyre tracks). Another 450 yds to go (I might have to use the salt which melts but provides no grip afterwards) so with luck our log delivery on tuesday can get to the house. Its annoying having to collect logs from the end of the lane in a wheelbarrow! Woods meant to warm twice not 3 times! Haven't quite made it to the top to see if the lake on the road from a burst pipe at the top has been cleared yet.
If it hasn't anyone for a skating competition?
