[LUG] printer problem with escputil

Hello

My printer responds to sudo escputil -i -r /dev/usb/lp0 with
cannot open ... Device or resource busy.

This has worked many many times in the past (this is the first time with Ubuntu 10.04 - I had to reinstall it).

I had just deleted it and switched it off then on in the hope of clearing whatever was the problem (having previously stopped publishing it on the network). The error log (for this operation) was:

Any thoughts as to what is stopping it? One of the ink containers is empty and it would be nice to confirm it before changing one (black probably).

Thanks
