[LUG] gnupg and ubuntu 10.04

Hi

I recently installed ubuntu 10.04 on a 2nd hard disk and have also
installed the password and encryption keys application

I have copied the contents of .gnupg over to the new installation

-rwxr-xr-x 1 psutton psutton 63 2009-02-06 18:38 gpg.conf
-rwxr-xr-x 1 psutton psutton 190032 2010-01-09 20:51 pubring.gpg
-rwxr-xr-x 1 psutton psutton 190032 2010-01-09 20:51 pubring.gpg~
-rwxr-xr-x 1 psutton psutton 600 2010-06-14 14:44 random_seed
-rwxr-xr-x 1 psutton psutton 1320 2009-01-08 19:17 secring.gpg
-rwxr-xr-x 1 psutton psutton 2120 2010-01-09 20:51 trustdb.gpg

this directory is located in /home/psutton

how do I get to the point where I can right click on something and
encrypt / decrypt files and also sign e-mails as at present when i tried
i can't sign them. (using thunderbird and enigmail)

there is a paul sutton.asc file which contains my public key.

Do I need to import something in to password and encryption keys

thanks for any pointers.

It would help if we can have talks on things like this at lug meets.
