I somehow doubt that number, as it would mean about six wireless
keyboards per person a year.

Reading the article made me think of our electrical toothbrush, which
can be charged by putting the charger's pin, which is entirely covered
in plastic, into a hole in the toothbrush. No metal to metal contact
there.
