To extend the idea, which may not be a particularly good thing to do,
but might have uses, if one replaces beep as the program executed on
calling for that page with Festival, and allows a string from the
connecting machine to be passed to Festival, then one could pass a short
message out of the loudspeaker or sound system of the computer.
