I see that there is a beta version out for Linux now. Has anyone
tried it?
I have, it works rather nicely. I have the unstable branch, but I
think it upgraded me.
It works pretty good, with HTML5 audio and video working and Flash too
(with the plugin). I don't see how this is beta, it's of release
quality.

I have just had a quick look. Of course, it is different from FF so it
will take some getting used to. Can't quite see how the tabs work yet.
My main, personal, moan already is that I can't open it up with a blank
page which I do in FF. I don't like to be forced to have a web page
opened automatically when I start.

Will play a bit more

Keep playing - there are several options for what gets opened on startup.

Yes, indeed. The home page, the last opened page or a selected page. I
want to start with a blank page, as available in FF and Opera. Can't
find that option.

Set the home page to

  about:blank

Like I do in other browsers.
