I am currently using Mint on my workaday laptop. Despite much effort, I have not been able to get it to play DVD's or avi's
Have you installed win 32 codecs, libdvdcss2, Vlc-plugin-dvdnav, xine-plugins, and lame for mp3's ?

Hi Bas - thanks for that. I have everything but, the "vlc-plugin-dvdnav" which I cannot find using Synaptic.
