Hi a few related questions

i was using wget to download the latest daily live build of ubuntu 9.10,
somehow my desktop did something and I ended up back at a log in
screen, logging back in, I opened up another terminal and started the
download again.

the download seemed slower i typed,

ps -aux | grep wget

which seemed to suggest i had two proceses running in a terminal window

1. the above is not quite the right syntax, what should be a better
syntax to use

2. if this happens is there a way to find out if the download is still
actually downloading, and therefore bring display the progress bar
thing you get when using wget

I am guessing the download may have still been running but i don't know
how to check things like this.

thanks

Paul
