Well, it doesn't take much for your email address to end up on spammers' lists: it only needs to be seen once by some harvester, for instance a piece of malware that scrapes someone's mailbox. It doesn't even have to be a subscriber who is infected: perhaps someone forwarded an email that had your address in it to their auntie, whose computer was infected.
