What a load of media induced bolox weddings are these days. Sorry, but I ge a bit too wound up about them these days - people are too influenced by the media wanting "celebrity style" weddings and so on.

From that article:

For recent bride Ria Lockie from Brighton, £20,000 was not even an option, being way over her £9,000 budget.

£9K. Oh if we had 9K to play with for my wedding (just over 5 years ago FWIW)

We spent £5K. Chartered a vintage bus, used the old part of Follaton hall - photos in the arboretum next door (by friends of ours), chartered a steam train (I kid ye not!) had a huge buffet on the train, rented the station cafe for the evening do, got in a Ceilidh band, danced, had another huge buffet with Indian snacks and sweets and the crowning glory - 500 quids worth of fireworks.... That figure included the brides dress (designed and made in Exeter) and my kilt. (made in Scotland!)

What a grand day out we had!

None of this fancy flouncy meringue nonsense, morning suits, fancy cars, stupid smell of boiled cabbage halls for a sit-down meal nor a tacky 80's disco...

Aargh. I think the BBQ is ready!
